Unfortunately the British Weather was against us last month. With heavy snow and ice in the forecast, we took the unusual step of cancelling the meeting on February the 28th. With hindsight I am sure all the members were grateful that we did.

Next month I hope will be fine, if not warm, as we welcome Sarah Humphries, who will talk to us about  'modern quilting' and show us her work. Sarah was the winner of the Modern Quilt Section at Festival of Quilts 2016 so I am sure her work will be stunning and we will learn a lot.

We are also looking forward to a workshop, in April, based around free machine quilting and led by Hazel Williams. Hazel is an inspiring teacher and as the workshop is being held at her premises at Thorpe Arch, we will also be lucky enough to have access to her shop and all that wonderful fabric. One can never have too big a stash!

So, more time spent happily sewing to look forward to next month.
